DefinitioninhA is a enoyl-acyl carrier reductase used in lipid metabolism and fatty acid biosynthesis. It is inhibited by isoniazid. Mutations in the promoter region or multiple copies of the inhA shows marked resistance to isoniazid mediated inhibition of mycolic acid biosynthesis.
