strobilurin resistant fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme [AMR Gene Family]

Ontology CARD's Antibiotic Resistance Ontology
Accession ARO:3009547
DefinitionThe cytochrome P450 enzyme family is integral to fungal metabolism inclusive of sterol biosynthesis. Strobilurin fungicides target the Qo site of cytochrome b in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, inhibiting respiration and ATP production. Although strobilurins do not directly target P450 enzymes, mutations in certain fungal P450s can confer strobilurin resistance by altering cellular metabolism, detoxification pathways, or membrane composition.
