DefinitionScutellarin is an experimental antibiotic potentiator that inhibits bacterial sortase A and caseinolytic peptidase P. When used in combination with vancomycin against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, scutellarin improves activity of the antibiotic, making it an effective adjuvant in the treatment of such infections.
