DefinitionThe anthrax toxin is composed of a single B subunit called protective antigen (PA) and two alternative A subunits: edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF). The lethal toxin (PA+LF) provokes a subit death in animals, the edema toxin (PA+EF) induces edema.
