Candida albicans mrr2 with mutations associated with resistance to fluconazole

Ontology CARD's Antibiotic Resistance Ontology
Accession ARO:3009239
DefinitionThe Mrr2 gene encodes a zinc-cluster transcription factor that is specifically associated with the activation of the MDR1 multi-drug efflux transporter. In fungi, mutations in this gene result in overexpression of MDR1 and potential azole resistance. Some evidence also suggests that it may influence the activation of other efflux pumps as well in Candida species.
AMR Gene Familymajor facilitator superfamily (MFS) antibiotic efflux pump
Drug Classazole antibiotic, triazole antifungal
