Mucor circinelloides BycA with mutations conferring resistance against tacrolimus

Ontology CARD's Antibiotic Resistance Ontology
Accession ARO:3009352
DefinitionByca is a suppressor of the cAMP-PKA pathway. When the PKA pathway is unrestricted, it enables the transition from yeast (avirulent) to hyphal state (filamentous, virulent). Inhibiting calcineurin through a compound like tacrolimus was thought to be a good pharmaceutical target but there are now instances of mutations that cause resistances against calcineurin inhibitors.
AMR Gene Familyfungal BycA, Serine/threonine kinases, calcineurin inhibitor resistant BycA
